How do I remove/change threadless jewelry?

I got my tragus pierced a few months ago, and the healing has been great. I started with a small threadless stud and the time has come when I'd like to change it. I've spent quite a while fighting with it trying to pull the front piece out and it just seems too difficult. Any tips from threadless jewelry owners out there?How do I remove/change threadless jewelry?Is it internally threaded or completely threadless? It is my understanding the threadless jewelry takes quite a bit of force the pull the end out. My advice, so that you don't hurt yourself or get really aggravated, is to go back to your piercer and let them change it out.
