I know how to change the speakers no problem I just can't work out how to remove the door panel.How do I remove the door panel of a rover 416 to change the speakers?what age is the car? it varies depending on what mark it is.
Dont know about the mk1 - very boxy - up to G reg i think
The mk 2 is easy, if your careful you can prise off the fabric cover without removing the door panel, slide a screwdriver under the rear edge and CAREFULLY prise it up, there are 2 tabs under there that break easily. Alternatively, there are screws around the edges and also in the bottom of the handle and behind the opening handle. lift it off, it hooks into the window aperture. Unclip the electrical connectors and set it aside, fit your new speaker and reassemble in reverse of dismantling.
I think the mk3 is similar but i can't be sure.
