I want to change my battery on a 2002 BMW R1150 Motorcycle. Do I need to remove the fuel tank?

If I have to remove tank what do I need to know before i start?I want to change my battery on a 2002 BMW R1150 Motorcycle. Do I need to remove the fuel tank?First you should read manual. My old BMWs just needed to tilt seat to get to the battery area just in front of swing arm. Newer models seem to have side cover also- but doubtful if fuel tank would need removal. l
