So the light in my bathroom burned out and when i went up there to change it i couldn't find a way to get the glass covering off.

Here is a picture of the fixture:

Hopefully you guys can help because I'm all out of ideas. How can i remove this glass to change the light bulb? It's obvious that the ring around the light needs to be removed.

If you see no little spots for screws it can only be one of two things.

ONE,- The ring screws on which means you will have to unscrew it. Usually just a small twist to the left, (counterclockwise) and then pull down.

TWO,- (and much less likely Press fit, in which case you need a screwdriver or something to GENTLY pry the ring off. CAREFULLY so you don't put a hole in the drywall. How can i remove this glass to change the light bulb?Have you tried just turning the glass area. I have seen square ones like that, and the cover will slide out if you push it toward one side. It sort of looks like there might be some sort of tab things so the glass might twist out..

My second guess would involve a flat head screw driver and try to release the tabs that way. (If you don't have one handy, a butter knife should do the trick.) Good luck! How can i remove this glass to change the light bulb?It could be that the glass rests inside the outer plastic ring so that ring needs to come off

Try this

Support the glass with one hand and turn the outer ring anti-clockwise slowly with the other. A partial turn should do it.

If you aren't feeling movement try the other direction.

If this works be careful that you are well supported - ideally have someone hold the ladder and take the fitting from you as you get down. How can i remove this glass to change the light bulb?Look carefully between the slots and you will see a screw head on each side.

Loosen the screws a few turns, do not remove, then turn the whole trim a little so as the screw heads go to the larger holes and the whole trim comes down,

Buy one of the cfl lamps as they last real long and have no element to blow out from fan vibration. How can i remove this glass to change the light bulb?I assume that this is a fan/light combo unit.

If none of the other answers have panned out yet, try this:

Take a sharp razor knife and score the paint where the outer part of the trim ring meets the ceiling. Then, GENTLY pull down on the trim (you may need a flat screwdriver to gently pry under and get it started.) If this works, pull down on the entire trim. It will drop down about 1.5 inches or so. You will see two springs. Squeeze them together to release the hooks. The trim should come out to expose your burned out bulb. I think I have located your fan/light.
