Will Quick Change oil stops remove a broken oil plug?

I had recently got under a friends car to see what was leaking oil and t was here oil plug which was broken off (the head of the bolt was missing and it is almost flush with the pan) I don't really want to mess with it for the risk of forcing the plug into the pan, so if we take it to an quick lube or something will they remove it and replace or do i have to do it myself? Will Quick Change oil stops remove a broken oil plug?Where did he have the oil changed previously? The plug was most likely broken off at the last oil change (I don't know any other way the plug could have been damaged like that except by over tightening the plug until it sheered.).I would take the car to them with the receipt from the last service and request they fix the damage. Will Quick Change oil stops remove a broken oil plug?I am sorry you did not provide Year Make and model plus miles. I would suggest taking it to whomever serviced it last and demand them fix it, have your receipt in hand. If your friend was the last to service the car, take it to a reputable mechanic. OR, you can do it yourself, a lot cheaper. The first thing you need to do is get a set of easy-outs. You can most likely f\ind them at a home improvement store like Home Depot. Drill a hole through the bolt as large as possible while being sure that you don't get into the threads on the pan. Once that is done put the easy-out in and use that to extract the broken bolt. You can use a large wrench for leverage.
